An elegant 19th century French Louis XVI style oval shaped giltwood mirror having a beveled mirror glass surrounded by a highly detailed frame featuring ornately carved acanthus leaves topped by a beautiful crest of trailing floral sprays, circa 1870s. The inner border features a carved twisted ribbon. Original patina with red oxidation showing through adds to the charm and authenticity.
