19th Century French Louis XV Arched and Carved Giltwood Beveled Wall Mirror
About the Item
Decorate a living room or entryway with this elegant antique gilt mirror. Crafted in Paris, France circa 1860, and over five and a half feet tall, the large wall mirror features an arched top decorated with a hand carved center pierced shell motif at the pediment, flanked with floral, foliage and acanthus leaf decor in high relief on both sides. The thick frame is further embellished with bead and geometric decor throughout. The beautiful mirror is dressed with the original beveled mercury glass and wood parquet back. The important Louis XV style wall decor is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns the original rich gold leaf finish. Versatile, this tall mirror could be placed over a buffet in a dining room, or over a mantel in a den or living area. New wire in the back for easy installation.
