19th Century Italian Carved Rococo Giltwood and Painted Wall Mirror
About the Item
Decorate a powder room, entry or hallway with this colorful antique wall mirror. Crafted in Italy circa 1880, and 5 feet in lenght, the stunning piece is ornately decorated with a richly gilded, rococo-style frame featuring intricate carvings and hand-painted scenes. The top of the frame is crowned with an elaborate pierced crest embellished with floral and scroll work decor, showcasing a central painted panel with pastoral or historical imagery. The frame’s sides and bottom are similarly adorned with delicate painted scenes, inspired by European landscapes or courtly figures, adding a touch of elegance and storytelling to the piece. The large Louis XV style wall decor is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use and adorns a blend of luxurious gilding and soft, earthy tones. This decorative mirror would be a focal point in any room, exuding old-world charm and sophistication.
