About the Item
For restoration. An antique pair of George III parcel gilt finished, carved wood oval mirrors. The oval frame with intricately carved fluted frame made in four segments and gilt finished. The mirrors feature a carved and gilt finished fan form embellishment to the bottom center extending below the frame.
Above the mirror is a fantastic carved and gilt finished urn form finial with decorative foliate swags extending from the mouth of the urn down to the mid section of each side of the mirror.
Mirror: 25 1/4"H x 19"W
Frame (total): 46"H x 25 1/2"W by 1.75” D.
Condition: Listed as a restoration project due to the numerous splits and wear to the wood and finish. The swags have minor splits and wear to the frame. There are seam splits to where the sections of wood frame come together and wear to the gilt finish. The looking glasses show wear commensurate with age but despite wear the mirrors do present well and with some restoration they will be fantastic once again.
