Antique classic mirror, gilded with gold leaf on wood with gesso, entirely in Baroque or Louis XV style, France, circa late 19th century.
Elegant and graceful acanthus decoration, the whole has a very attractive patina of age. The thick mirror glass is decoratively spotted, which is often the case with very old mirrors.
This beautiful mirror is in good antique condition, with signs of age and use commensurate with its age. Please see the photos for more details!

Large antique narrow gilded mirror from the 19th century, completely in classical baroque style, France circa 1870.
The mirror still has its original mirror plate that is decoratively weathered and mocked, which is very desirable, the frame is decorated with acanthus leaves all around, mainly decorated very ornately at the top and bottom, unfortunately the mirror was once painted over with gold paint, which does damage the authenticity somewhat, under the paint is the original gold leaf. The back of the mirror is finished with planks, as was customary at that time.
A nice extra is that the planks on the back are covered with antique French newspapers...
