About the Item

A rare adjustable Mirophar wall vanity mirror by Brot, Paris, dating from the 1930s. Created in 1927, the Mirophar was an innovative illuminated magnifying mirror featuring a fish-eye opaline glass designed to prevent fogging and provide soft, flattering illumination for precise grooming, makeup, and shaving. Originally conceived for luxury automobiles, the design quickly found its true success in the finest hotels of the era. This example retains its nickel-plated frame with original mirror and patina, as well as the distinctive lighting feature. Marked and in very good original condition, it has been professionally rewired and is ready for use. Requires a French B22 bayonet bulb. Founded in 1826 by François Brot, mirror maker to King Charles X, the Maison Brot has been renowned for its craftsmanship and innovation for nearly two centuries.
