About the Item
A grand Baroque mirror from the first half of the 18th century. The frame features a black lacquered exterior adorned with applied, hand-carved, and gilded decorations in the form of scroll motifs and acanthus leaves. The profiled black outer edge contrasts beautifully with the gilded elements. The sight edge is richly detailed with acanthus leaves and a bead-and-reel frieze, showcasing the decorative splendor and craftsmanship of the Baroque period. The frame is restored and the mirror glass is new.
