About the Item

A courtly, Empire mirror from France with its original mirror plate. The frame is made of beveled mahogany decorated with gilt bronze stars, a motif commonly found throughout the Empire style. Dating circa 1860, this mirror is truly striking, as the original double pane mirror glass has exquisite signs of aging with foxing and crystallization.
