An exceptional French 19th century Louis XVI st. double framed giltwood mirror. The mirror retains all of its original mirror plates throughout with the central mirror framed within a beautiful and most decorative Les Oves designed wrap around band. The outer mirror plates are separated by fine palmette reserves and display an elegant mottled design with a lovely twisted ribbon design at the border, fine blooming flowers, and striking scrolled acanthus leaves elements at the bottom corners with topie shaped feet. The stunning top crown displays exceptional richly carved swaging blooming flower garlands below striking foliate gadroon designs with a central seashell reserve and a charming mandolin amidst musical instruments, lovely flowers, and superb cornucopias at each corner.
