A spectacular and most impressive large scale Italian 17th century Louis XIV period Baroque giltwood mirror. The mirror is raised by two fanciful 'C' scrolled supports with a central pierced acanthus leaf design. Each side is adorned with exuberant and scrolling acanthus leaves, centered by a charming cherub. Above is a most impressive top crown with a pierced reserve of foliate scrolls and additional acanthus leaves. All original period gilt and mirror plate. Extraordinary quality.
