Large 19th Century Giltwood Oval Wall Mirror, c. 1820

About the Item

A rare and very elegant giltwood oval wall mirror of large proportions; designed in the style of Adam brothers, who pioneered the Neoclassical style in the late 18th century Britain. Dating back to late Georgian – early Regency era. British, circa 1810–1830. Why we like it Elegantly shaped as a pleasing oval, this mirror is finely sculpted with exquisite foliate decoration to the frame and will readily suit a refined classical interior, as well as an eclectic home, or can become a focal point in a contemporary space. Design The foremost designers of the Georgian neo-classical period incorporated the elements seen in this mirror in their designs from the 1770s onwards.
