About the Item
This 18th century Louis XVI baguette frame giltwood mirror is full of vintage character, and features a slim but beautifully carved frame embellished with bands of carved decoration and string-of-pearl beading around the mirror plate. Touches of faded red on the outer and inner bands complement the rich gold perfectly, giving an attractive two-tone effect to the finish. The overall feel of the mirror is one of distressed antique elegance, with plenty of age-related wear to the gilding and small losses here and there, which only add to its charm. Rectangular in shape, this mirror can be hung either horizontally or vertically, and would look particularly striking in a sunny room.
