About the Item
An impressive and architectural pair of French 19th century Empire st. Patinated and Giltwood mirrors. Each palatially scaled mirror with it's original mirror plates is raised on a straight mottled base flanked by mottled plinth like feet to each side. Wonderful and intricately carved Giltwood reserves accent the entirety of each of the side columns and lead to exceptional Corinthian capitals. The arched top of each mirror is accented with Les Oves patterns below two stunning winded maidens dressed in flowing garments while both holding a single laurel wreath at the center. The top crown is decorated with tied ribbons and swaging garlands above a laurel band and below mottled and foliate bands.
