Pair of Italian 19th Century Giltwood Mirrors
About the Item
A spectacular and most impressive pair of Italian 19th century Transitional st. Giltwood mirrors. Each most stunning mirror displays a mottled Giltwood frame supported on scrolled Greek key block feet below intricately carved foliate designs. The straight mottled sides leads up to additional foliate carvings below a charming seated cherub gazing into a mirror. At the center of the wonderful top crown are two cherubs amidst scrolled carvings supporting a mirror, as if pointing it downward to display the reflection of a person below. Wonderful and intricate carvings with all original mirror plates and gilt throughout.
