About the Item

Ron Gilad Deadline Mirror "2 Crossing Paths" For Cassina A collection of design mirrors, hybrid objects of exceptional constructive craftsmanship, envisioned by Ron Gilad through construction engineering and fine furniture making. 16 unique pieces, each one set in an ash frame, with different shapes and surfaces. Each work is made up of two pieces of glass coupled 12 mm apart: the front mirror is back-painted in different colors while the rear mirror reflects an interplay of geometric graphic shapes in dual perspective. The frame can be disassembled to clean the mirrors and is made with visible joints that accentuate the expertise of the joiners. The oblong, square and rectangular shapes vary the product line, lending a sense of artistic uniqueness MATERIALS Solid ash frame, screen printed, extra clear, silvered safety glass; MEASUREMENTS 50 x 70, 40 x 170, 100 x 100 cm. ATTACHMENT Wall mount on metal plate. The mirrors making up the Deadline collection by Ron Gilad are ingeniously designed hybrid objects, combining premier engineering and carpentry skills of the highest order. 16 unique pieces, each set in its own black or white ashwood frame, each of which boasts a different texture and shape. Every piece is composed of two sheets of glass, 12mm apart. The front face is silvered, the back being coloured orange, blue, or red. These colours are reflected in the second mirror, to create a subtle interplay of graphic shapes. The frame comes apart so the mirrors can be cleaned. It is fitted with high-profile joints, the better to emphasise that this is an example of craftsmanship. The oblong, square, or rectangular frames highlight the difference between each option, reinforcing the idea of the unique nature of the work of art. **Deadline mirror launch by Ron Gilad @ Cassina IXC, Japan** Important information regarding images of products: Please note that some of the images show other colors and variations of the model, these images are only to present interior design proposals. We try to edit our photos to show all of our products as life-like as possible, but please understand the actual color may vary slightly from your monitor About the Designer: Ron Gilad’s hybrid objects combine material wit with aesthetic play; they sit on the fat, delicious line between the abstract and the functional. Gilad is fascinated with philosophizing about the common objects we live with. His work, which vary from sculptures to production pieces, have no “expiration date” and reside in both public and private collections worldwide. Gilad asks unceasing questions in 3D form and fabricates answers that create an arena for fertile doubt.
