About the Item

This is an exquisite Charles III mirror, crafted in Spain during the 18th century. The mirror is framed in finely carved and gilded wood, showcasing the elaborate Rococo style popular during the reign of King Charles III. The intricate carvings feature asymmetrical floral and vegetal motifs, scrolls, and decorative elements that create a sense of movement and elegance. The upper section is crowned with an ornate crest, while the sides are richly adorned with floral embellishments. The mirror itself is engraved with a delicate scene depicting a classical figure framed by ornamental garlands. At the base, two gracefully curved candle arms made of blown glass are attached, designed to hold candles and reflect their light, enhancing both the functional and decorative character of the piece. This mirror is a fine example of Spanish craftsmanship, blending artistic sophistication with luxury, and reflects the tastes of the European aristocracy of the period.
