About the Item
A pretty pair of French walnut nightstands and one drawer with open shelf, circa 1940.
Pair of French Louis XV style walnut bedside tables from the early 20th century. This pair of French 'tables de chevet' were created in the early 20th century, at a time when the country revisited the rococo style that marked the reign of King Louis XV as a means of reviving national pride and heritage. Each of these exquisite side tables features a meandering tray top framed by a three-quarter gallery. The tables are adorned with a slim dovetail drawer. Raised on four cabriolet legs, tall and slender, typical of the Louis XV period. The set is delicate and elegant, with beautiful waxed lines that will add a touch of sophistication to any room, especially a bedroom where they can be used to anchor a bed.
