Decorated and Embossed Silver Dagger

About the Item

Dagger in decorated and embossed silver. The blade has inscriptions and small engraved designs, and the handle and scabbard are decorated with detailed reliefs, possibly inspired by traditional motifs. The sheath fits snugly against the blade, protecting it and adding grace to the whole. The shape of the hilt suggests that it is both decorative and functional. Some of the dagger's decoration comes from the East, where this type of piece was common as a ceremonial weapon or clothing accessory. It may have been used to symbolise status or tradition. Time has left signs of wear, but the richness of the details still attracts attention. An interesting piece for collectors of antique weapons or worked silver items.
