Color print on cardboard, from the 1950s depicting a Maccchi M 8 single-engine, center-hulled hydro reconnaissance bomber designed by Alessandro Tonini in 1917 and manufactured by Nieuport Macchi of Varese, Italy.
It is a seaplane of classic design that retained the appearance of earlier models.
Mounted on faesite and glass stand with hooks.
Good condition, a few stains. Measurements 60x2x29 cm - inches 23.6x0.7x11.4.
This aircraft was used by the teams based in Venice, Brindisi and Santa Maria di Leuca, carrying out aerial reconnaissance actions of the coast and searching for enemy submarines. After the First War, he participated in the Baltic Circuit air raid initiated in 1919 for diplomatic purposes toward Northern and Eastern European nations to promote Italian aviation companies.
Length 9.97 m, wingspan 16m, speed 162 kmh, range 810 km.
Designed by Giorgio Bigozzi and colored by Massimo Jacoponi both students in the postwar period of the Rome Art School.
