1978 Franklin Mint "The Great Airplanes Sterling Silver Miniature Collection in its original blue presentation case including the information booklet and letter of authenticity. The is fully complete and showcases 50 miniature sterling silver ingots depicting the Wright Brothers first flight through to the Supersonic Concorde. The booklet traces the astounding progress of flight during that time period of 75 years with different flights and airplanes embossed on each ingot which measure approximately - 16.6mm x 11.13mm x 1.26mm in thickness with the entire set weighing 100 grams of .925 Sterling Silver. The presentation case interior is plastic covered with a dark blue felt designed for each ingot to sit in its own compartment with an off-white satin in the inside top. The lid and bottom have a chromed metal rim to avoid any wear to the edges of the display case measures: Length: 28cm Width: 12.5cm Depth: 3cm. The booklet, the inside of the box and silver ingots are in very good condition. The cardboard covering to the box and the outside of the box itself show some signs of wear as does the letter. Please refer to the images.
