A striking limited edition set of the collected works of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, a beautiful and illustrated set.
A limited edition. The 'Author's Edition' limited to one-thousand sets, of which this set is numbered one-hundred and seven.
Complete in thirteen volumes.
The collected works of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, the latest of his works included here being 'The Hound of the Baskervilles', which was published in the same year as this set.
Doyle is best known for his Sherlock Holmes tales, to whom four of the volumes in this set are dedicated to.
Doyle did write a copious amount not featuring his most famous detective. Some of these include the historical works 'Sir Nigel' and 'The White Company', both of which are historical novels set in the Middle Ages. He also created the character of Brigadier Gerard, a Frenchman during the time of the Napoleonic wars, who features in 'The Exploits of Brigadier Gerard'.
This edition includes a preface and notes by the author.

In a half crushed morocco binding with marbled paper to the boards. Externally, smart. A couple of very light marks to the spines. Spots to the fore edges. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
