The dramatic 1925 Paris Expositions des Arts Decoratifs heralded the emergence of the Art Deco movement as a great decorative style. The High Quality photographs in this book were first published in 1926 in three volumes to show the rooms furnished for the exhibition. the original books are now extremely rare. The plates provide a classic record of true Art Deco design. Interiors are included for grand reception rooms, drawing rooms, dinning rooms, bedrooms and boudoirs, and hallways and vestibules. Although concentrating on these more important rooms, coverage extends to artists' ateliers, studios and studies, dressing rooms, ladies', gentlemen's and children's chambers, a music room, a kitchen, and even a smoking room and a swimming pool. It would be hard to overestimate the importance of this source of inspiration both on contemporary manufacturers and subsequent disciples of this most individualistic of styles.
