About the Item

Collectible antique German Luther Bible, also known as " Lutherbibel " in Germany. The Lutherbibel is a German translation by the Protestant reformer Martin Luther, a New Testament translation was first published in 1522 and later the completed Bible containing the Old Testament was published in 1534 (with additions to the text until 1545). This particular piece is marked MDCCXXXVIII which translates into the year 1738. Measures 9 inches in width by 14.75 inches in length and 4 inches in depth. There is quite some overall wear as visible in each photo, though still a wonderful collectible piece of history.
