French Series of Childrens Books by Arnaud Berquin-Set of 10, c. 1829

About the Item

Ten book series of The works of Arnaud Berquin. The set was put together by hand, has leather spines and covers with gilded lettering, decoration, and a lacework design with a hand painted marbleized background. The French language set includes L'Ami des Enfants (1) , his most famous story, L'Ami des Adolescens, Sanford et Merton, Le Livre de Famille & Le Petit Grandisson. Arnaud Berquin (1747 - 1791) was a popular children's book author in the 18th century who was published throughout the 19th century. The group of books together is 11 inches wide.
