The Jam is a rock trio who were known for their mod image, quintessential English flavour and the distinct stylistic mixture of psychedelic rock and 1960s beat music. Rising from humble beginnings, Paul Weller and Steve Brookes, a pair of enigmatic duo, debuted their first gig in Woking, on the stage of Working Men’s Club, Woking. Hailing their drummer from the same secondary school - Sheerwater Secondary School, the Jam, with their Rickenbacker guitar, Lambretta GP 150, and hair styled like Steve Marriot circa ‘66 officially completed the formation.
This book documents the intimate lives and humble beginnings of the band members, not a band full of drugs and drama, but an equally fascinating read, Paolo Hewitt’s words draw us into The Jam’s rock and mod journey.
