About the Item
Limited run of 750 copies (ours bears No. 563) of the facsimile reproduction of the ms.556 codex made, in 1446, by Zuliano degli Anzoli, preserved at the Biblioteca Nazionale Centrale in Florence. The text (illustrated by 289 pencilled drawings) recounts the epic of King Arthur and his court, the exploits of the Knights of the Round Table in search of the Holy Grail, and the love affairs of Lancelot and Guinevere and Tristan and Isolde. Accompanying the reproduction of the codex is a volume of transcription and commentary edited by Roberto Cardini
Two volumes in very good condition. The reproduction of the codex is in a red velvet binding with metal cantonal and central medallion with stones, in very good condition. Papers in very good condition. Commentary with full leather binding with gilt title on spine and gilt title and engraving on front plate, in very good condition. The two volumes are contained in a leather-covered slipcase with leather insert on the front plate with embossed decorated vignette, in excellent condition
