James Bond 'Moonraker' Original Vintage Australian Daybill Movie Poster, 1979

Capitalising on the sci-fi space craze in the wake of 'Star Wars,' EON Productions opted to postpone filming 'For Your Eyes Only' in favour of loosely adapting Ian Fleming's 'Moonraker' as the eleventh instalment in the James Bond series. And so Roger Moore's fourth outing as agent 007 saw him head into outer space to prevent a plot to wipe out the world population and recreate humanity with a master race. Despite production costs more than double those of 'The Spy Who Loved Me' (1977), the space-age lark became the highest grossing 007 movie to date, until usurped by 'Goldeneye' in 1995. The Australian Daybill poster featured the same spectacular silvery artwork by American artist Daniel Goozee as the British and US poster campaigns, which pictured Bond in a spacesuit rather than his typical tux.
Although a similar format, Australian day bills are significantly rarer than US insert posters.

Printed in stunning stone lithography, this extremely rare poster was designed by prolific poster artist Eric Rohman for the original Swedish release of the action-packed 1926 American silent comedy 'For Heaven's Sake,' starring Harold Lloyd - one of the biggest stars of the silent era. After several years at Pathé, Lloyd made his debut at Paramount with this delightful slapstick classic, in which his trademark go-getting 'glasses' character appears as Uptown Boy J. Harold Manners, a millionaire playboy who falls for a Downtown Girl. The Life of a Forgotten Magicians
We are proud to offer a unique collection of one of London’s most unquestionably entertaining magicians known as Bernard and Ms Radar. A fascinating collection of 1940s-1960s items relating to the telepathic magic act 'Bernard and Miss Radar', a mind reading husband and wife duo, who extensively toured British theatres performing their telepathy based act and who were apparently the recipients of the 'World Convention of Magicians Award', which they received at the Magic Circle Convention in London in 1955. The collection comprises the basis for their act; 2 large handmade jigsaw puzzles, a “Radar” hat, top hat and other associated items with which they performed. There is also a large quantity (over 1000) of publicity photographs, theatre contracts, Magic Circle programmes, scrapbooks and other ephemera relating to their career, plus approximately fifteen original 1940s and 1950s theatre and other posters and several hand bills and flyers, all including Bernard and Miss Radar on the billing, along with other variety acts of the period. Some of the theatre posters included are; The Hippodrome, Eastbourne, Arcadia Theatre, Skegness, Commodore, Ryde, The Knightstone, Weston-Super-Mare and The Palace Theatre, Reading, which now all been framed to preserve them for display.

Origin: England
Condition: Aged through wear and tear is present across all the item, some fading across the posters however they are not torn or damp. Some of the hand painted items also show aged wear and light discolouration. Please take note that these items are over 70 years old and would have been used as part of this magician’s act, therefore its safe to say these items all show age, however, are very well preserved. Please review all the photos and propose questions were unsure of the condition to avoid any disappointment.

Making a bold visual statement with a clean and straightforward design, this small-format poster for the first Belgian release of George Miller's groundbreaking 1979 pre-apocalyptic action thriller 'Mad Max' utilises the same superb Tom Beauvais artwork created for the British campaign posters, which draws us in as we look down the twin-barrels of a shotgun. As noted by Sim Brannaghan in his 2006 book on 'British Film Posters,' the Beauvais design strips "the film down to its basic elements of cop, the car & the road". Set in a bleak dystopian near-future Australia veering towards societal collapse due to critical petrol shortages, the influential film starred a little-known Mel Gibson in the titular role as a police officer turned vigilante when his family are murdered by a sadistic biker gang. Essentially a revenge western meets apocalyptic road movie, the film's sparse dialogue made way for a kinetic combination of visceral action sequences, chaotic car chases and an other-worldly visual style, hinting at the barren wastelands we would see in later films. For similar examples see the collection of the British Museum (Oc1937,0308.1 and Oc1937,0308.2) each with the same handwriting as the example offered here, but signed ‘H. Porter’ and dated 1837 and another in the National Martime Museum, Greenwich.
John Adams (1767-1829)
John Adams (known as Alexander Smith) was the last survivor of the Bounty Mutineers, the disaffected crewmen, who, led by acting-Lieutenant Fletcher Christian, seized control of the ship from their captain, Lieutenant William Bligh, and set him and eighteen loyalists adrift in the ship’s open launch.
After a sojourn in Tahiti, Christian, the remaining mutineers and some native Tahitians, mainly women forcibly abducted, left on 22nd September 1799 in search of safe haven. He then formed the idea of settling on Pitcairn Island, far to the east of Tahiti; the island had been reported in 1767, but its exact location was never verified. After months of searching, Christian rediscovered the island on 15 January 1790, 188 nautical miles east of its recorded position. This longitudinal error contributed to the mutineers’ decision to settle on Pitcairn in the hope they would be undetected. On arrival the Bounty was unloaded and stripped of most of its masts and spars, for use on the island. It was set ablaze and destroyed on 23rd January 1790.
Although the settlers were able to survive by farming and fishing, the initial period of settlement was marked by serious tensions among the settlers. Alcoholism, murder, disease and other ills had taken the lives of most of the mutineers and Tahitian men. John Adams, Ned Young, and Matthew Quintal were the last three mutineers surviving in 1799 when the thuggish Quintal, while drunk, reportedly threatened to kill the entire community if he could not have Fletcher Christian’s widow as his own consort, and in response Adams and Young lured him to Young’s house and killed him with a hatchet. Having taken effective control of the 19-member strong colony after the 1793 massacre, Adams and Young then turned to the Scriptures using the ship’s Bible as their guide for a new and peaceful society. As a result, Adams and Young embraced Christianity and taught the children to read and write using the Bible. Young eventually died of an asthmatic infection in 1800, but Adams continued his work of educating the women and children. The Pitcairners also converted to Christianity. The Pitcairners would later convert from their existing form of Christianity to Adventism after a successful Adventist mission in the 1890s.

The letter is dated November 7, 1925 and addressed to a Mr. Leo Bicher. In his letter, he explains how he missed the letter at first and will send a signed baseball to Bicher if there is another exposition in the future. This is a 1835 map of “The United States from the Latest Authorities” by Ezra Strong. A hand-colored engraved wall map of the eastern half of the United States, this map has a large inset of the "Oregon District" and several engraved city views and two portraits.
The primary map extends to Mexico Texas and the Missouri Territory, showing the course of the Missouri River to Ft. Mandan and Old Ft. Mandan, and noting many forts along the river. The territories to the east of Missouri Territory are separately delineated as Sioux District and Huron District. The western details of the map are very good for a map of this time period, with many Native American settlements, villages, forts and other details noted.
The map is bordered with vignettes of Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Hartford, Cincinnati, and Baltimore. Each vignette notes the date settled, primary settler, and the population as of 1830. Two portraits of LaFayette and George Washington are presented in full length with related biographical information.
