About the Item

A superb set of Russian 10 x 80 Large Anti-Aircraft Binoculars, date stamped 1972, manufactured during the Cold War period and originally issued to Soviet forces with outstanding optical performance. Of superb quality and manufacture, the wide-angle eyepieces are designed for comfort during prolonged use and comprise adjustments for eyeglass wearers. This particular set is augmented by a commander's monocular allowing a second participant to the field of view, magnified eight times. The 10 indicates the level of magnification (with the object viewed being magnified 10 times) and the 80 indicates the width of the objective (the lens is 8cm across) providing a very wide field of view). The binoculars are fitted with double focus lenses allowing each lens to be adjusted in isolation to provide the individual user with near perfect clarity. A wonderful addition for any room with a view, this binocular set has been professionally stripped, serviced and inspected prior to being hand polished. They are mounted on a sturdy but lightweight tripod which can be height and angle adjusted. Specification: The height of the tripod can raise the binoculars from approx 130cm- 200cm. The binoculars measure: 35cm long, 35cm high and 45cm wide.
