Late 19th Century French Cast Iron Salesman Sample Plow by Morcrette

About the Item

1860s-70s; François Morcrette - Cugny, Aisne, France Morcrette (sometimes spelled Morcrétté) was a blacksmith and plow manufacturer based in the small town of Cugny in the mid-to-late 1800s. He patented and produced improved cast iron plows, which were notable for their durability and efficiency in tilling heavy soils. His inventions were part of a regional hub for farm equipment, alongside larger, more known firms like Deleuze, Sébilleau, and Peugeot. The last picture is Morcrette's original French Patent Number 95950 from 1869. This salesman sample is made of cast iron. All pieces seem original. Includes a brass manufacturer's plaque: "Morcrette Constructier - A. Cugny, France." Please refer to photos for condition and details. 4" W x 8" L x 5.5" H
