Description:
Finely cast miniature shoe made of gilt bronze, inspired by a late Baroque ladies’ shoe with pointed toe and gracefully curved heel. A raised floral ornament with two layered blossoms and relief-carved leaves decorates the instep. The surface treatment is varied: the upper part of the shoe shows a subtly stippled texture, while the sole and heel are smoothly finished. The interior is polished with slight traces of use.

This decorative piece belongs to the category of so-called objets de vitrine, which were especially popular in France during the Belle Époque. The miniature scale, historicizing design, and naturalistic decoration reflect the representational culture of the late 19th century.
