Thanks for looking at this refurbished, fully functioning mid-century stereo console. This is a cherished and much respected GE Wood Slats and Flat face cabinet. We call the this the Frankie, as in Frank Sinatra, the Chairman of the Board, as it would have been one from his Palm Springs home if not the one of his built-ins he had. It shows great time period patina but refinished to a great looking piece. The receiver and reel to reel tape player are left intact for great aesthetics. If rebuilding the original radio and tape player are much desired, we can quote that, along with adding new sound equipment. The turntable should be replaced with a new turntable, able to give years of great performance far superior to the equipment of old. All consoles work and play music and include an out of sight, brand new receiver that is integrated and sounds magnificent. So if you want the original equipment playing, or all updates and upgrades, or a combination of them, we do that! Our workshop can also do a wide variety of services such as complete restorative refinishing, light refinishing, and total new veneer refinishing. You work with us in letting us know your needs and desires and we make it happen. Just like we did for the latest Paramount Pictures movie consoles we delivered. Our shop has been acquiring beautiful pieces from the mid-century period for our customers for years and between our employees and techs we have over 100 years of experience in this. We acquire from various sources, including exclusive estate brokers and sales, antique shops, restoration shops and well known collectors in this area. When you sell 750 plus mid century consoles like we just did, you've kind of seen it all. All of our consoles are from the 50s or 60s. Most go through an intense refinishing process as an upgrade, through our studio shop. but our goal is to keep it looking like it is from the period, and may contain some condition patina consistent with the age. We will of course cover as much as you'd like, and refinish further if requested, however understand that we don't fully destroy the period integrity of these artifacts by fully sanding through and trying to rid of all nicks and fades and scratches that help show and flatter the piece.
