Antique Mahogany Windlass Table
About the Item
An extraordinary historical Nautical rope winding Ship's Windlass from the great age of exploration and commerce reinterpreted as a standing table. The windlass section is antique with the circular top mounted on a separate tiered round base with carved curved supports. The top has a later made and added copper maritime directional axis with brass inlaid stars and anchor along with other applied motifs.
Dimensions: 32" diameter x 37 1/2" high
Condition: Please see the detail photos. Various signs of age and use including the top with some expected wear along the top edge and discolored copper. The base has stable age cracks on the top and along the base edge. Three of the applied motifs are very worn and mentioned for accuracy as the Table retains a fine Nautical and Historical presentation.
