About the Item

First class yacht binnacle by Kevin Hughes of New York and Boston. Varnished wood base with hinged door. A bronze clinometer is mounted to the base. Iron compensating balls are mounted to brass brackets. The brass wood and band hold a gimballed compass engraved with makers name Kelvin & Wilfred o White Co’, Boston and New York, USA. This binnacle is the type that was found on the grand steam yachts of the early 20th Century. Weight: 80 lbs Overall Dimensions: 45"H x 28"W x 19"D Made: America Material: Wood Brass Date: C-1920.
