About the Item
Antique print, titled: 'Lussa dei sumpto violantur ab arbore pomo, Efficit hoc tacitis vipera saeua dolis.'
This original antique print shows a scene from Genesis in the Old Testament; Adam and Eve eat the apple from the tree of good and evil. This rare antique print orginates from: 'Theatrum Biblicum Hoc est historiae Sacrae -veteris et novi testamenti tabulis aeneis expressae", published by Nicolaum Johannis Piscatorum ( N.J. Visscher), 1674.
Artists and Engravers: Made by an anonymous engraver after 'Nicolaes Visscher'. Nicolaes Visscher I (25 January 1618, Amsterdam – buried 11 September 1679, Amsterdam) was a Dutch engraver, cartographer and publisher. He was the son of Claes Janszoon Visscher. His son, Nicolaes Visscher II (1649–1702), also worked with him and continued the family tradition of mapmaking after his death. Visscher died in Amsterdam in 1679 and was buried in the Nieuwezijds Kapel on 11 September of that year, though a death year of 1709 is maintained by some sources.

Religion Print Titled 'Susanna Resisteth the Temptation of The two Judges', 1728
Located in Langweer, NL
Antique religion print titled 'Susanna resisteth the temptation of the two Judges'.
She said to her maids, "Bring me oil and ointments, and shut the garden doors so that I may bathe." When the maids had gone out, the two elders rose and ran to her, and said: "Look, the garden doors are shut, no one sees us, and we are in love with you; so give your consent, and lie with us. If you refuse, we will testify against you that a young man was with you, and this was why you sent your maids away." Susanna sighed deeply, and said, "I am hemmed in on every side. For if I do this thing, it is death for me; and if I do not, I shall not escape your hands. I choose not to do it and to fall into your hands, rather than to sin in the sight of the Lord." This print originates from 'Figures de la Bible'.
