This rare set of three “Patience Bottles” (Geduldsflaschen), crafted in the Alpine regions in the late 19th century, showcases the remarkable skill and devotion of folk artisans from that era. Each bottle contains a delicate religious scene depicting Christ on the cross, surrounded by instruments of the Passion, meticulously assembled within glass and partially painted for added depth and expression. The art of creating scenes within bottles, known as “Patience Bottles” or “Eingerichte,” originated nearly 300 years ago.
