This is an antique mechanical engine indicator. A Scottish, brass scientific instrument by Dobbie-McInnes of Glasgow, dating to the early 20th century, circa 1920. Presenting a great deal of mechanical and historical interest Displays a desirable aged patina Self-contained within a quality wooden case Industrial grade metal casing to the indicator shows minimal wear Measures the pressure upon a piston during its combustion cycle This force is logged to a paper roll attached to the drum Such devices favored by power plants and Royal Navy, amongst others Replete with information labels and an insert card with graph to rear Period illustrations add further collector appeal Maker's mark can be found to the front fascia Reads; Dobbie McInnes & Clyde, Glasgow, just one such mark as found throughout the instrument This is a rare and fascinating opportunity, a wonderful example of early 20th century instrument making and of interest to scientific and in particular, to those of Scottish Industrial interest.
