Box of mid-19th century compasses, housed in their original tuia burl box, nickel-plated brass and ivory instruments, velvet and satin interior, lock and hinges in brass. Embossed on the satin inside the lid printed in gold is the name of the company that made them W.H. HARLING Mathematical Instrument Manufacturer 40 Hatton Garden London. Box complete with: engraved boxwood ruler for equivalence, wooden rulers with double scale, some balusters for small circles, two compasses with fixed points of different sizes, two small compasses, several tiralinee with ivory handles, etc. Bon état.
