c. 1899 NOS Complete Japanned Copper Dental Drill

About the Item

This immaculate and incredibly rare piece of dental history originates from the office of Dr. Harry Wood - formerly located at 205 Huron Street in Berlin, WI. This complete dental drill set comes with everything - including the ornate japanned copper swing arm, japanned rotating wheels, motors, and counterweights. The original crate is also included in the sale of this piece, which the drill has been housed in since it's creation. The original packing material, a straw-like substance, can be found inside the crate. A small pamphlet, courtesy of the Dr. Wood, also resides in the crate and details the care instructions that would have been given to a dental patient at the time. The swing arm and accessories could be kept for many generations as a museum-quality piece of dental history. This set can be dated back to the turn of the century. The end user may also consider converting this into a swing arm lamp - as many dental lamps from the time period used these same components. The crate measures 40" x 14" x 12". The swing arm measures 35" in length as photographed - and can extend an additional 20".
