About the Item

The military meter was used during the campaign of military conscription visits for military national service in Italy. The base, made out of cast iron, is richly decorated, including the Sabaudian coat of arms. It rises upholding the wooden graduated meter and the top scrolling lever, made out of brass. Italy, Pedimont region, circa 1860.
