This is a vintage laboratory microscope. A German, enamelled metal scientific instrument by Carl Zeiss Jena, dating to the late 20th century, circa 1970. Delightfully presented within a robust case with numerous accessories. Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order — function untested. Tactile to hold, the deep black enamelled body has a striking form. Quality brass and nickel fittings present golden and silvered tones. Rotating dual eye cups set upon a height adjustable riser. Offering a rotary lens platform for four objective lenses. Generously sized slide platform with comprehensive adjustment and clasps. Original mirror in very good condition, free of marks. Presented within a quality oak case, with bright caramel hues and fine grain interest Dressed with an inset working lock, the Carl Zeiss Jena branded key present Holders with multiple extra lenses and other accessories slide securely into the case Engraved with serial number 253117 and personalised for a D.S. Russell This is a fascinating vintage laboratory microscope, graced with excellent quality and appealing late 20th century optical craftsmanship. A treat for the collector or for display purposes.
