Marchal Ferrari accessory counter advertising sign, ca 1950’s, color litho celluloid over card backing.
The sign was produced when Marchal (electrical car parts including head lamps) provided Ferrari cars of accessory. Very Rare item, perfect for any car mascot, hood ornemant or automobilia collector.
The Artist was H. Camy, a French poster designer. He did works for Marchal and Citroen among others.

After winning the Auto Sport World Championships in 1953, Enzo Ferrari decided to build a small series of spiders that would spearhead the Scuderia’s latest assault on the World title. These cars were to be known as the 375 PLUS for which Aurelio Lampredi developed a truly powerful V12 engine of nearly five litres while Pinin Farina took care of the coachwork. The results lived up to all expectations and the car also triumphed at Agadir, Silverstone and Le Mans. However, its most significant victory of all was Umberto Maglioli’s at the Carrera Panamericana...

Vintage tabletop swing ball game.
A rare tabletop swing ball game in original pine box. The exterior of the lid with stenciled name 'Le Spiroble de Salon'. The interior with paper instructions. The Victorian or early Edwardian game comprises of a short beech-wood pole with weighted X base and a ball on a piece of string. There are two very nice long handled rackets to accompany the set, the rackets with original gut stringing.
A fine and I believe very rare set.
The paper instructions are in French and read:-

Ce jeu se joue sur une table divisee en deux parties egales par le Trace. Il se compose d'un Poteau au sommet duquel est attachee une cordelet le terminee par une balle en caoutehoue.
Pour installer le Poteau on en fait entrer l' extremite dans le support alour- di de plomb en forme decroix. Le support est place au milieu de la table dans l'axe du Trace.

Rare 18th century Dutch golf engraving by J. Aliamet depicting Dutchman playing the early form of golf on the ice near Haarlem in 1668. The engraving is taken from Adriaen van de Velde original oil painting but is printed in reverse, the Kolf engraving is entitled 'Les Amusemens De L'Hiver' (Winter Fun). A print of this engraving was published in Darwins 1920 book, A Golfers Gallery of Old Masters. The scene shows a group of four Dutch gentlemen in the foreground playing kolf, the forerunner of golf. The main player can be seen taking aim to hit the post which is next to the man standing over his right shoulder. They are eagerly watched by a young lad who has his hands in his pockets to keep warm with a Kolf club under his arms, looking as if longing to join in.
