About the Item
Steiff Jubilee Assortment, this beautiful set of 6 Steiff Velvet animals was produced in 1997 in honor of the 150th Birthday of Margarete Steiff. The Anniversary Set consists of 6 animals in a specially designed presentation box. Each of the animals is made of velvet, the same material Magarete Steiff first used to craft her animals in the late 1870's. The animals each measure between 5 and 6 inches in length. It is believed that these 6 animals were the first animals Magarete created in her shop where she worked as a seamstress. Each of the animals has a white ear tag with matching numbers. Included are a donkey and a horse with bridle, leather saddle and red saddle cloth, a pink pig, a white spotted dog with leather collar, a cat with a satin ribbon and an elephant with saddle cloth. They all have the Steiff Button in the Ear. The animals have different sizes and are between 14 cm and 17 cm (width).
The Anniversary Set is limited just 1847 sets worldwide. This set is brand new and has never been played with. The set comes in its original Steiff box. The box is in a vintage condition with some scratches. The animals are in a mint condition.
The original certificate will be included, this is number 1136.
