About the Item
Teddy bear with built-in hands-free telephone. KC Bearifone II, produced by TeleConcepts Inc. in the 1990s. It's a hands-free telephone with a built-in loudspeaker, disguised as a doll, with a chequered waistcoat and pink bow tie, with a telephone keypad built into its belly. The mouth and eyes move to the rhythm of the caller's voice, creating the illusion that the bear is talking. It works as a complete speakerphone.
The original box says it's ‘soft & cuddly’, in other words, suitable for a desk or children's room. It combines the function of communication with the appearance of a toy. It's an example of 90s design, mixing electronics and decorative objects. The item is still in its original packaging, with visible signs of wear on the edges of the box.
