About the Item

A custom stand supporting a crocodile case from India in the 1920s. This case features a crocodile skin exterior with a cloth interior and numerous pockets. On the front are two basic fliplocks and a leather handle for transport. The top of this case features the initials of the owner, P.I.H. as well as the stamp of the manufacturer, Outhbertson & Harper Makers, 10 Government Place, Calcutta. This case sits on a matching custom-made wooden stand that helps to create an elegant display. This British Colonial crocodile case on custom stand from the 1920s would make an unusual addition to most homes and would make a wonderful storage vessel while at the same time being a guaranteed conversation piece.
