About the Item
The painted finish is all original on this rustic pine flat top trunk. Flowers were a traditional embellishment as seen on the front of this handcrafted trunk with red flowers contrasting against the dark blue background. The paint has been worn off in many areas, revealing the deep patina of the pine below reflects generations of use.
The date of 1880 is seen in red along the front.
This trunk rests on raised feet. Note photo of interior that reveals a small box to store smaller personal items.
Restored, strong and stable, this pine trunk is ready to be used and enjoyed. Wax finish. No lock nor key.
All scratches, cracks, nicks, dings, stains, dried old wormholes and age related separation (see top, sides, bottom, etc) are reflective of age and do not detract from the rustic appeal nor function of this chest.
