Philip Webb for Morris and Co. A rare walnut sheet music or folio stand with elongated turned finials, pierced circular decoration and a three quarter turned gallery below with three open shelves and a cupboard to the base.An ebonized version without a lower cupboard sold for £9500 at Sotheby's: ‘The Best Of British Design from the 19th and 20th centuries. The Selling Exhibition' London 14-20 March 2008. PR69. You can see when compared with the mahogany one we have available that the ebonized one has been reduced slightly at the feet.A similar whatnot with the same finials can be seen in an 1879 photograph of the Morris and Co shop window at 449 Oxford St.
