About the Item
Beautiful English Needlework Panel
Dating from early 17th Century Circa 1620
The entire surface worked in intricate tiny silk stitches.
Hard to capture the beauty on my camera. Each flower, leaf, plant etc is edged with gold metallic cording which still sparkles when held to to light and give a lovely raised effect to the needlework. Camera makes it look flat which it isn't
So pretty
Edged with sparkling 18th century gold metallic braid
Usually squares like this were used on bag faces ,needlework caskets or grouped together on bed hangings etc
