One of a Kind Handwoven Wool Area Rug 13'9 x 19'5

About the Item

Red, green, aqua, teal and gold motifs on a dark cream background in a design based on an original painting by Elizabeth Moisan inspired by 18th century, hand woven, Indian chintz bed covers and wall hangings made for the English market. Such Elizabethan embroidery patterns, when executed by Indian artisans, metamorphosed into an exotic style and became highly fashionable in 18th and 19th century Europe. Made with ancient French Aubusson dyeing and weaving methods, this handwoven Aubusson flat-weave rug has thousands of subtle color shades, similar to antique Aubusson rugs. Has passed independent durability tests by the Independent Textile Service of Dalton, Georgia, USA. Green manufacturing methods make this rug safe for children and pets. Measures: 13'-9" x 19'-5".
