Antique Caucasian Daghastan Rug 3'3" x 4’4". Eastern Caucasian, west Caspian Caucasian rugs, primarily scatters, in geometric layouts, some prayer, from a wide range of local villages. Marasali prayer rugs are considered as the best.. Some pictorials.  Wool warps, often cotton wefts. Lowish pile, moderate to fine weaves. Natural dyes exclusively until 1890’s, then synthetics appear. Moderate to high priced.
