About the Item

The composition of this very rare antique minimalist flat-weave takes place on three panels, woven separately on narrow tribal looms and then stitched together in order to create the large format. The background colour consists of a very chic tonality of dark chocolate brown, appearing in various gradations which impart a particular dynamism to the composition. Its 'ancient/contemporary' look is really what distinguishes this piece from the others. Woven by the Kurdish people located in Azerbaijan, it's endowed by the characteristic sturdy texture of the kilims of this region and is also backed with a black cotton lining, making it a perfect candidate for floor use. This genuine antique tribal piece expresses a mysterious colour mood and offers an ideal backdrop to many Modernist interiors.
